Eligibility and Types of Chinese Visas

Here are some common types of Chinese visas
D Visa: For permanent settlement in China.
G Visa: For transit purposes.
L Visa: For tourism and visiting China.
M Visa: For commercial or trade activities.
Z Visa: For working in China.
Q2 Visa: For visiting family members who are Chinese citizens or have permanent residence in China.
Q1 Visa: Issued to the family of Chinese citizens or foreign nationals with permanent residence in China.
F Visa: For attending conferences, art performances, sports events, etc.
Documents Required for Chinese Visa for Indian Nationals
When applying for a Chinese visa online as an Indian national, you must submit the following documents:
For China Tourist Visa:
- Valid passport with at least 6 months validity (including old passport if applicable).
- Completed visa application form.
- Two passport-sized photographs.
- Personal covering letter (on plain paper for employed individuals or on company letterhead for self-employed).
- Updated bank statement.
- Income Tax returns/Form 16 for the last 3 years.
- Employment letter or proof of academics.
- Hotel reservations or an invitation from relatives/family.
- Confirmed flight tickets.
- Day-wise itinerary.
For China Business Visa:
- Valid passport with at least 6 months validity and a minimum of 2 blank pages.
- Visa application form.
- Two recent colour photographs.
- Invitation letter from the host company detailing the purpose of the trip and business-related information.
- Original business covering letter on official business letterhead.
- Indian Company Registration Certificate.

It’s advisable to seek assistance from an experienced visa expert to minimise the risks associated with the application process. Please note that Chinese Embassy/Consulates typically do not accept visa applications by post.
Processing Time
The standard processing time for a China Visa for Indian citizens is usually 4 to 6 working days. However, the Chinese Visa Application Centre offers an express service for urgent visa needs, allowing applicants to receive their visa within 24 hours.
Visa Validity
The validity and duration of stay for a China visa depend on the visa type. Typically, a tourist visa is issued with a stay period of 30 days and a visa validity of 3 months.
